IQrouter Pro
Powerful router with easy setup and automatic line optimization
IQrouter Pro is a powerful router that brings the benefits of advanced smart Traffic Management to high-speed lines along with the compute, memory, and storage capacities expected of a Pro product. Yet, it has the same ease of deployment and fully automatic, self-optimizing capabilities as our highly regarded IQrouter V3.
Capable of handling symmetrical 2.5-gigabit lines thanks to a powerful multi-core x86 processor, the IQrouter Pro supports any line and has the capacity to spare for other functions.
To cleanly integrate with advanced WiFi deployments, where multiple Access Points (AP) are already deployed, the IQrouter Pro omits on-board WiFi, yet supports handling segregated networks, such as an isolated Guest SSID with a pre-defined VLAN, simplifying deployment.
So, if all you need is a single node WiFi, a $70 add-on Pro-level AP can deliver excellent WiFi, even supporting isolated Guest networks. See our WiFi guidance page for options.
Initial deployment is just as simple as with an IQrouter v3, plug it in, connect to our web-based UI from a wired PC, and in five simple guided steps, the unit is configured and started the tuning process. Then, connect to your switch with the rest of the network, and you will be back online in fifteen minutes or less.
As a Pro model, it comes with plenty of RAM (4GB min.) and plenty of storage (min. 28GB free), so you can run add-on packages (such as traffic usage charting) and keep the data isolated from firmware upgrades in the provided “/data” partition of the SSD.
Packaged in a small, easy-to-place, passively cooled (no noise) metal box, it can be deployed in regular home environments if desired. With five independent, 2.5 gigabit ports, it can be configured for any scenario. The default configuration should meet most of the home and business needs with the following:
Port 1 – WAN link to the Modem
Port 2 – LAN1 untagged local bridged network in the br-lan zone
Port 3 – LAN2 untagged local bridged network in the br-lan zon
Port 4 – LAN3 untagged local bridged network in the br-lan zone
VLAN 3 tagged traffic bridged to Guest network and routed to the Guest zone
Port 5 – Guest LAN untagged bridged Guest network in the Guest zone
Once deployed, the most basic configuration is to plug the existing network switch into LAN1.
Another simple setup is a single AP added to the IQrouter, configured with two SSIDs, one untagged for regular LAN and one tagged with VLAN 3 for Guest users, then plugged into LAN3.
Making the IQrouter an easy solution for simple setups and flexible enough for the most complex.
The Advanced menus provide all the granular control knowledgeable users need to manage their configurations.
And the complete and familiar power of the OpenWRT base OS makes it easy to set up advanced network configs, such as adding additional VLANs or enabling the included Wireguard, OpenVPN, and DDNS services.
Like the IQrouter v3, updates are regularly provided and are a simple one-click operation with updates automatically retrieved over the network.
Secure and robust thanks to the up-to-date kernel and utilities, the IQrouter Pro is a safe option for either home or business deployment.
This is the answer for advanced home users and professionals looking to address bufferbloat and line issues.
